Are Christians Clogging up the Courtrooms of Heaven?

courts of heaven 9Doug Addison

I had a major prophetic dream in which an angel spoke to me—and I was shocked by what I saw and what was said.

You may have heard the story of my experience with the mediating angel in the Courtroom of Heaven. Well, I want to share with you more of what the angel said and how it applies to us today, but first let me give you the background.

For several years, I had an issue I needed to resolve with a Christian publishing company that had not treated me fairly with a book contract. I reached out to others who were going through the same experience and they were filing lawsuits against the company.

I felt a little uncomfortable with this because of what the apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 6 about suing other Christians in the courts of law. I know there are times we need to use the legal system, but wouldn’t it be great if we could resolve our differences and avoid going to court altogether—especially since we are all Believers and share in the same work of the Lord?

Mediating Angel Dream

I had been praying about this situation and asking God for a strategy on what to do. Then I had a prophetic dream where I was sitting in an office of the Courtrooms of Heaven. In the dream, a mediating angel sat down with me and the publishing company, and we worked through our differences, mediating the situation between us.

In the natural, I got my contract back a short time later without even contacting the company. It had been done first in the Courtroom of Heaven.

“Please Tell God’s People to Stop Accusing Each Other”

When I entered into the Courtroom of Heaven in the dream, it was jam-packed with Christians accusing each other. The angel said to me, “Please tell God’s people to stop accusing each other, because it is jamming the Courtrooms of Heaven and taking away heavenly resources from things that really matter on Earth—like revival.”

This was several years ago, before I began releasing prophetic words on why we need to stop complaining and accusing each other. Judgments are closing the heavens over us due to the spiritual principle of “whatever a man sows, that he will also reap” (Galatians 6:7 NASB).

Legal System in Heaven

A legal system in Heaven actually exists. We see a glimpse of it in Job 1:6–12, where satan goes into the Courts of Heaven and requests permission to tempt Job. Again in Zechariah 3, satan stood accusing Joshua the high priest in the Courts of Heaven. Another example is satan asking Jesus permission to sift Peter:

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” (Luke 22:31–32 NKJV)

The Greek word used for “has asked” means “to demand for trial” or “to give up for torture or punishment.” It is assuming a guilty verdict and demanding a harsh sentence. Satan asked Jesus to put Peter on trial, but Jesus said, “I have prayed for you.” Even though Jesus prayed for and tried to prepare Peter, he walked through two months of difficulty.

Advancing Revelation

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12 NKJV)

God is releasing new, advancing revelation and understanding of His Word right now. The Courtrooms of Heaven messages that are springing up offer fresh, new revelation from Heaven.

This reality has changed my life and the way I pray. I used to intercede and pray like I was going to war on a battlefield. Now, I battle in the Courtrooms of Heaven first and face far fewer battles on Earth.

Our enemy is not other people, but the demonic powers and forces that are trying to divide us. A house divided against itself cannot stand. These divisions can happen when we complain and pray against one another, not realizing we might be closing off Heaven and clogging up its courtrooms.

prophesy from the wall

For many of us the concept of the Courts of Heaven is a new thought but when you look in the Word there is much that points toward it. We know that Satan goes into the courts and accuses us day and night and we have seen an accusing session over Job. So why shouldn’t we go there to defend ourselves too in our prayer life?

  1. This is indeed a very sensitive season in the spirit and all hand must be on deck to see this outpouring sustained. This would imply that we keep the heavenly portals open by inculcating the right attitudes between ourselves, hence creating an accommodating atmosphere suitable for angelic visitations and spiritual participation on earth. If we must legislate properly, then we must adhere to God’s counsel in this great and resourceful court room encounter of yours. Thanks a lot. More grace for greater participation with the realm of God in Jesus name.
