1 Chronicles 28:9 (NKJV) “ Solomon, my son, get to know the God of your fathers. Worship and serve him with a clean heart and a willing mind, for the Lord sees every heart and understands and knows every thought.”
I was going through the piles of notes I have from all my research and studies and I came across this thought which is pretty sobering if you really understand what it means.
How foolish must we be to bargain with God, to posture before Him or speak to Him in any manner that is not in absolute sincerity.
The Spirit of God dwells among the file cabinets of your mind. He knows the inventory of the hairs on your head and the hours, minutes and seconds of your life. Truly understanding the implications of that, we would be taken by uncontrollable fear if His Character were not loving, kind, patient and forbearing.
Who else but someone with absolutely perfect, infinitely unconditional love? Yet we go about our lives with the pretense of having any thought we want to hide squirreled away from the eyes of God. And it says God sits on His throne and laughs!
Psalm 2:4 (NKJV) 4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.
